Manchester United have the chance to go 1 point clear at the top of tha table as they face bottom of the table Portsmouth, I understand that Rooney may be rested as United play Aston Villa on wednesday night, so this may give Michael Owen a rare start up front, and it can do his World Cup chance a great push.
Liverpool and Everton face off in the 213th merseyside derby. The home side are still missing Torres, Benayoun and Johnson, whilst Aurelio is a doubt with a calf injury. The visitors are without Jagielka, Gosling and Hibbert, whilst Arteta is a doubt with a groin injury. This will be a heated affair as always and a great way to kick off the weekend action as it is a 12.45 start. Enjoy!
The other big fixture this weekend is the London derby between Chelsea and Arsenal at the Bridge, How will Terry react to being stripped of the England captaincy? Will this have an impact on his club form? Also, are Arsenal out of the running for the title after that lesson from the current champions last weekend? How will they react? Will Abou Diaby and Niklas Bendner’s addition to the team make a differnece?
As always, your comments are much appreciated, so please do let us know what you think in regards to any of the weekend fixtures.

John Terry has been stripped of the England captaincy following allegations he had an affair with an England team-mate’s ex-girlfriend.
Terry, 29, held talks with England boss Fabio Capello at Wembley on Friday.
“After much thought I have made the decision that it will be best for me to take the captaincy away from John Terry,” said Capello in a statement.
Terry, who has been replaced by fellow defender Rio Ferdinand, said he abided by Capello’s decision to demote him.
“I fully respect Fabio Capello’s decision,” the Chelsea centre-half said in a statement. “I will continue to give everything for England.”

Manchester United turned in the performance of the season by any club on Sunday. They went to Arsenal and completely tore them apart. Wayne Rooney is in irresistible form and there is only one winner in this one.
Man U began the game so quick that Arsenal found it difficult to keep up with the pace of the game, Arsenals’ midfield was too inexpreienced to compete with the current champions on their own stomping ground, sayin that, Rooney and Nani, yeah Nani were too brilliant, it was unbeliveable to see Nani play so beautifully compared to his last 2 seasons at United.

Although Man City Won 4-3 against Sunderland this afternoon, Hughes has been relieved of his duties as manager. This may come as surprise to most foofball fans, including me. If you take a look at Citys’ recent form then it is understandable that the owners are frustrated at the lack of results required considering the invesment into the club. But my argument is what will Mancini do different to Hughes, yeah he has contacts in Italy and potentially across Europe, but will he have respect amongst the dressing room with the current players to take them to next level, and remember this isn’t his squad. I feel that Hughes should have been given the chance until the end of the season at the least as he is a brilliant British manager with a proven record against the ‘Big ‘Four.
A brilliant saturday afternoon of football in the Premier League, with Chelsea earning a vital point at home against Everton and Manchester Utd losing at home to Aston Villa for the first time in over 25 years. The excellent win for villa sees them creep into 3rd, just ahead of Arsenal who have 2 games in hand, the next game away at Anfield on sunday afternoon.
With slip-ups at the top of the table, the bottom half is always interesting as West Ham fall into the relegation zone along with Bolton abd of course Portsmouth. What will happen over the christmas/new year period? as the games come thick and fast.

An exciting week in the premier league is ahead of us with Manchester United cutting the lead at the top of the table to just 2 points. Spurs had a great chance to go 3rd in the league but lost out to a last minute penalty save by Tim Howard at Goodison Park.
